Delhi University B.ED ENTRANCE SYLLABUS
All candidates will be required to appear in the entrance Test. Group Discussion and interviews at their own expense on the dates and timings specified in the admission schedule at the Department or any other venue notified on the notice board of CIE and on the CIE website.
Candidate from each of the subject category (Physical Science, Life Science, Humanities and others) will complete among their own category. The entrance test will consists of the

a. General Awareness Test 40
b. Intelligence Test 30
c. Teaching Aptitude and Sensitivity Test 20
d. Comprehension Test 30
2. Descriptive Test
Expression Test (either Hindi or English) 20

Description of Tests
1. General Awareness Test
The general awareness Test assesses the knowledge of the candidate in various fields which includes school subjects, education and current national and international affairs.
Section A For science students only
Section B For Humanities and Social Science students
Do not attempt both the sections A and B.
2. Intelligence Test
The Intelligence test the mental capability of the candidates. This test would include
areas which will assess mental abilities such as reasoning (inductive and deductive), identifying and understanding the relationship/principle among the various elements or objects, decision making, data analysis and interpretation.
3. Teaching Aptitude and Sensitivity Test
This test focuses on assessing sensitivity to issues related to the growing child, school, family and society and probes the candidates general disposition and attitude towards teaching.
4. Comprehension Test
The Comprehension Test aims at assessing the candidates languages comprehension kill skill, either in English or in Hindi, as per their choice.
The expression Test aims at assessing the candidates written expression skills in English or Hindi language, as per their choice. Candidates may answer either in English or in Hindi, But the same medium must be used throughout the Test.
Group Discussion and Interviews
A limited number of candidates will be called for Group Discussion and interviews (on the basis their performance in the written test). Each candidate will be required to participate in a Group Discussion and two subjects-interviews (In each of the two school subjects he/she has chosen). The general aspects to personality will also be assessed through these
interviews. The weightage is as follows :
(a) Group Discussion : 10 Marks
(b) Subject Interview : 25 Marks
(c) Subject Interview : 25 Marks
At the time of the interview, candidate offering subjects at A-level will be assessed with regard to their understanding of the subject content at the secondary (VI-X standard) and graduation levels. Those offering the teaching subject at B-level will be assessed with regard to their understanding of the subject content at the senior secondary (XI and XII standard), graduation and post graduation level. Those offering the teaching subject at C level will be assessed with regard to their understanding of the subject content at the school level only.
